Penguin Group’s Data Center has taken a decisive step toward innovation and transparency in its security operations with the implementation of body cameras (Body Cams) for its security staff and the introduction of a digital patrol control system using mobile devices and QR codes. This initiative reinforces the protection of its critical infrastructure and reaffirms its commitment to the safety of employees, clients, and visitors.
According to Katherine Delvalle Martínez, Head of Facilities at Penguin, the use of Body Cams is mainly aimed at “bringing more clarity and trust to our work within the Data Center.”
These cameras record in real time what happens during registration and control processes, helping to provide evidence in case of an incident and to verify compliance with established protocols. In addition, they bring peace of mind to both internal staff and visitors, “because they show that we take care of every detail and act with transparency and professionalism.”
Similarly, the Data Center has modernized its patrol and attendance control system. Delvalle explained that the new monitoring methods are based on digital systems that replace the old manual methods.
“Now guards use mobile devices and QR codes at strategic points, ensuring more precise control and generating immediate reports for supervision,” she detailed.

This system, in addition to improving traceability, expands the scope of security rounds. “Each round seeks to guarantee perimeter security, such as the proper condition of walls and gates, and also includes checking other internal aspects that may pose risks, such as pipe cracks, non-functioning extractors, restricted doors and access points, internal lighting, and any condition that could affect the security or continuity of operations. This allows us to have a detailed and reliable record of everything that happens in the Data Center,” she emphasized.
One of the main benefits of integrating Body Cams and digital systems is that both connect directly to the MSU monitoring center, which enables an immediate response to any anomaly. “This ensures that security operations do not rely solely on subsequent reports, but on immediate, verifiable data that allow for quick decision-making,” she said.
Delvalle also highlighted the strategic importance of this initiative: “This implementation definitely optimizes our operations because it standardizes and automates security processes, provides useful metrics for decision-making, reduces operational risks, and improves coordination between security and monitoring teams.”
Finally, she stressed the importance of constant monitoring within this type of facility, reminding that the Data Center is critical infrastructure that must operate safely 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
“Constantly monitoring what happens allows us to prevent incidents, act quickly in case of an emergency, and bring peace of mind to our employees. It’s not just about technology, but about ensuring that both operations and people are always protected,” she said.
With these measures, Penguin Group’s Data Center reaffirms its leadership in managing safe, transparent, and efficient operations, consolidating clients’ trust in its infrastructure for the continuity of their operations.
