About Penguin

Transforming energy into human potential

Penguin is one of the leading high-performance computing operations in South America, designing, building, and operating renewable-powered data center infrastructure for the AI era from Paraguay.

Infrastructure built to be trusted

Penguin is one of the leading high-performance computing operations in South America. We build and operate efficient, environmentally friendly data centers that host cutting-edge technology for partners around the world.

Reliability starts with energy. Our facilities sit next to the Itaipú Dam, one of the largest and most efficient hydroelectric power plants in the world, giving us firm, 100% renewable power at industrial scale.

And we own our infrastructure end to end: a 160 MW substation built in a record 11 months, grid leveling that steps 220,000 volts down to 23 kV, and data centers engineered for hydro, air, and immersion cooling at AI-ready densities. Owning every layer means we answer for every layer.

Behind it all is a team formed at home: through Penguin Academy, the country's largest tech education programme, we develop the talent that builds and operates what comes next.

Direct-to-chip hydro cooling at 200 kW per rack and immersion cooling reaching a PUE of 1.05: high-density infrastructure ready for the next generation of compute.

Penguin Academy students

Invested in people

Penguin Academy is the largest tech education programme in Paraguay, creating skills and opportunities for thousands of young people: the talent that builds Penguin.

The Penguin journey

From a coding school in 2019 to one of South America's leading high-performance computing operations.

  1. 2019

    Penguin launches in Paraguay

Started as a software factory and school, running coding bootcamps for young people across the country.

  2. 2020

The country's largest tech education programme

Penguin Academy grows into the largest tech education programme in Paraguay, training thousands of young people for careers in technology.

  3. 2021

First data center: 6 MW in Villarrica

Build-out of Penguin's first data center facility in Paraguay. Bitfarms later joined our space on the site.

  4. 2022

First 100 MW PPA in Paraguay's history

Penguin signs the country's first 100 MW power purchase agreement and starts the build-out of the Hernandarias substation with privately raised funds.

  5. 2023

    Our own 160 MW substation

Completion of Penguin's own 160 MW substation (PSS I) in Hernandarias, on a 7-hectare site. Energisation begins with hydro- and air-cooled data centers.

  6. 2024

    Energised to 100 MW

Energisation reaches 100 MW, driven by partnerships with leading global players and data center operators.

  7. Today

    Built for the AI era

First site in Paraguay using immersion cooling. Expansion into AI and the transformation into a globally recognised technology player.
